UCalgary History's Frank Stahnisch is a Royal Society of Canada Award Winner
Fifteen eminent Canadian scientists, scholars and researchers have been recognized by the Royal Society of Canada (RSC) for their outstanding achievements in advancing knowledge and understanding of the past and present.
Frank W. Stahnisch holds the Alberta Medical Foundation/Hannah Professorship in the History of Medicine and Health Care at the University of Calgary, and is the recipient of the Jason A. Hannah Medal for an important publication in the history of medicine. His research comprises the history and philosophy of neuroscience, history of medicine and public mental health. His book A New Field in Mind: A History of Interdisciplinarity in the Early Brain Sciences examines the relationships between disciplines that created new epistemological and social contexts for neuroscience to evolve.
RSC Awards celebrate outstanding contributions from across disciplines and across generations. This year's award winners will be honored during the Awards Ceremony on Friday, November 19, 2021, as part of the 2021 RSC Celebration of Excellence and Engagement.
