The University of Calgary Faculty of Law would like to thank Moodys Gartner Tax Law LLP for their generous gift of $100,000 to support our new Moodys Gartner Faculty Fellow in Tax Law.

The Fellow, which will be held by Professor Saul Templeton in the 2016-17 academic year, will be responsible for developing tax law links between the law schools at the Universities of Calgary and Houston, and advancing tax law research at the University of Calgary. A portion of the funds will be used for professional development opportunities for the Fellow each year.

"I would like to thank Moodys Gartner Tax Law for their support of the tax law curriculum and research at the University of Calgary,” said Templeton. “This gift will provide invaluable research assistance from JD students, and will allow us to advance work on various projects, including work on the administration of the CRA’s Voluntary Disclosures Program and on privacy protections for sensitive taxpayer information."

“Investing in education and the future of tax is a key component of our community investment strategy,” said Kim Moody, Director, Canadian Tax Advisory at Moodys Gartner Tax Law, in an announcement from the law firm. “We are very happy to support the future tax stars (students) and faculty who will help advance our profession.”
