Summary of Research

As a Medical Oncologist I am part of the Central Nervous System and Breast Cancer Tumor Site Groups. Initial research related to rare primary brain tumors including population based analysis to evaluate outcomes and prognostic factors at Provincial level. My current interest is the development of clinical trials based on preclinical data generated at the University of Calgary that needs to be tested for feasibility, tolerance and efficacy in patients with glioblastoma, one of the most aggressive forms of cancer in humans. In relation to breast cancer, I participate in the design and development of protocols involving translational research looking for new target therapies specially in patients with triple negative breast cancer. Additionally, cultural differencies in breast health and medical professionalism are areas I am interested in.
