Summary of Research

Dr. Golestani's primary research interest is developing MRI acquisition and processing method and their applications in cancer treatment. More specifically, the role of functional MRI in oncology (diffusion, perfusion, spectroscopy). In addition, I am also interested in neuroimaging and studying brain physiology, function, and connectivity using fMRI and DTI.

Dr. Golestani received his BSc and MSc in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Tehran, Iran, and his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Calgary. Dr. Golestani completed two postdoctoral fellowships at NYU Medical Center and Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest. Before joining AHS, he worked as an MRI physicist at Toronto Neuroimaging Facility at the University of Toronto from 2016 to 2021. He joined AHS in October 2021 and currently working as a medical physicist (MRI) at TBCC.
