The Edward J. Brown Award in Leukemia Research

For research aimed at understanding the biological basis of these cancers, as it relates to prevention, detection, treatment, or metastasis; research to develop and/or improve approaches to preventing, diagnosing, and/or treating these cancers; or research to improve the quality of life and wellbeing for patients with leukemia.

Applications focused on translational, clinical, health services, and/or population health research with a clear focus on melanoma are welcome. Applications that incorporate multi-disciplinary team-based science are encouraged. Patient and/or care-giver involvement in the development of the study is strongly encouraged. Funds are available to launch a new idea or support an existing project.

  • As part of the review, a patient advisor may be invited to provide feedback, which will be considered by the review panel during the adjudication process.
  • Applications for new projects that have the potential to grow to larger projects in the future and projects that add value to existing projects are both encouraged.
